Since 1973, Homers Construction, Inc. has developed a unique Home Check Service exclusively for those families owning homes in the Hemlock Farms Community Area. We currently provide this service to approximately 150 homes in the Hemlock Farms Community
What is the Home Check Service?
Homers Construction, Inc. is your eyes and ears. Our company will check your house once a week and do a complete walk through. All your needs are covered whether your home is large or small. No matter what your need may be, we are only a phone call away. Whether you forgot something and need it mailed, or want the heat and hot water turned on prior to your arrival. If we find a roof leaking, we have the capability to fix or replace it. If you decide you don't have enough room, we have the capability to put a new addition on for you. No problem is too large or small. We are there for you offering 24-hour emergency service through a professional answering service.
What are some of the things we look for?
To name a few:
- Leaking Roofs ~ Fallen Trees
- Doors or Windows left ajar ~ Evidence of Vandalism
- Frozen and/or Broken Pipes
- Power Failures
- Refrigerator/Freezers Broken Down
- Unwelcome Guests
- Evidence of Insect Infestation
- Thermostats and Heaters that are not working properly or not at all
Over the years, what would Homers Construction, Inc. consider being an extreme situation they have handled?
Due to our weekly walk-through, in the past we have been able to find and correct many disturbing situations, left unattended could have been worse.
Two examples would be:
- Squirrels living in houses that have chewed furniture and wood.
- Individuals that have literally broken into a home and used the house as their very own to stay and live in.
How does Homers Construction, Inc. handle and/or treat problems?
Each situation is handled on an individual basis. We try to evaluate the situation and "categorize" the problem. Some Homeowners just want Homers Construction, Inc. to take care of any problems regardless of the situation.
Minor Problem
A postcard is sent to the homeowner bringing the problem to their attention at which point it will be up to the Homeowner to decide how they want it handled or taken care of.
Serious Problem
Homers Construction, Inc. will make every effort to notify the Homeowner by telephone at any number provided, advising them of the particular situation occurring at their home. At that point it will be up to the Homeowner to decide how they want this handled or taken care of.
Urgent Problem
Homers Construction, Inc. will fix it or secure the problem immediately, then inform the Homeowner what had occurred. This would only take place if time were of the essence in order to prevent further damage and expense to the Homeowner.
What does a service like this cost?
Each contract is individually tailored according to the length of time the Homeowner finds this service necessary. It could be a 1, 2, 3, 6 or even a 12 month contract. It really depends on your particular time requirement.
